There have been 5 mass extinctions in Earth’s history. There’s a 6th, current one going on right now, caused by us humans, the Holocene Extiction (also called the Anthropocene).

Now, there’s evidence that it’s worse than we thought. Unsurprisingly, it’s caused by habitat destruction and climate change.
